Tune in for two episodes each week, and make sure you subscribe to get them as soon as they are released. Welcome to Episode 143. Today, we'll discuss something that I'm often asked. And that is, what have I gained by being a podcaster? for almost three years now? What have I learned what were my aha moments. And so before I discuss into this topic, I want to reiterate here my my mission as a podcast host, and that is to inspire the listener, to inspire you to grow, to stand out to take some action towards the next level of your life, whatever that is for you. And I talk about this mission without using the word lightly. And I will share here with you that when I started podcasting three years ago, it was out of curiosity, I was having fun, it was exploring something that I wanted to do that felt like the right thing for me to do. And it was a hobby that I enjoy doing for over a year and a half. But it all changed in April last year in 2020. Well, the first lock down in the UK, and pretty much around the world happened at that time. Because I was staying at home I had much more free time. So I started to publish the podcast twice a week instead of once a week. And that was a pivotal moment a game changer for me, because it changed the way that that was looking at the podcast, there was a shift in my thinking it was not the hobby anymore. I very quickly realised that producing two episodes a week requires a lot of work. So that line between hobby and something more than that was crossed at that time. Very quickly afterwards, I realised that it was about making a difference in people's lives in the in the people the listener use that get something out of it out of listening to eat out of a conversation and implement it and does something with it. That took me a little while to realise but once I did, then it became my mission. As I said earlier on. Show before I go into the Learning Centre realisations that these three years have given me, I would like to start with sharing some of the wins some of the milestones that I've had as a podcaster. So I am a top 50 podcast, this podcast, personal development mastery, it's number 39 in the self improvement category in Great Britain, in total of head 40,000 downloads in over 100 countries and over 105 star reviews coming from 13 different countries in the world. And I'm not saying these numbers to impress you. What I really want to impress upon you here is that three years ago, I just started something out of curiosity and fun. There was that enthusiasm that I very quickly discovered that felting tricked by it. And that enthusiasm allowed me to carry on doing it taking action and being consistent. And I kept on doing it regardless of silences role the learning curves and disappointments because I could see that I was actually getting good at it. Show during this almost three years now and counting my first podcast in personal development essentials. I was blessed to

have meaningful conversations with over 120 exceptional people from all around the world and from all walks of life. So the word from Tony Robbins senior trainers to World Class coaches, from bestselling authors to Forbes, top 20 entrepreneurs, from shamans and spiritual teachers to psychics and Reiki masters, from my TEDx speakers to leadership university professor. And of course, the single biggest benefit that I have gained by these conversations is knowledge, firsthand knowledge as a podcast host, and sometimes I joke about that, I get to ask them whatever I want. It's, it's an incredible feeling. So I learned firsthand, from my guests expertise, and it is probably one of the most important if not the most important things that I've gained by being a podcast host for three years now. And talking about my guests, one other major thing is his confidence. Because you know, the more I started talking with people, and some of them with some incredible achievements, and the more I was speaking to them, the more I tended to take them out of that proverbial pedestal. So I realise more and more than they are people like me, there is something that we do have in our mind, about other people whom we perceive that have achieved success. And that keeps us at a distance from them. And me being able to speak with these people. And I've been blessed to be speaking with them for two episodes a week now for over a year. It's an incredibly confidence booster, where I will say it like that, because it really changes this paradigm, this way of thinking about other people. And, and I hope that I'm making it clear here of what I'm trying to say. And also, in a very authentic way, I will share with you that many parts of this is just myself reflecting and recording. So it's not necessarily prepared. So there is this level of authenticity here, as well. It's part of me. And I also want to share something that is one of the best feelings that I have gained as a podcaster. And that is after I've had a conversation with one of my guests. And they tell me that I really asked great questions. And I made this conversation very easy and having flow. And I will say this with you. If someone told me three years ago, I get you will be doing this, I would say Are you crazy, but it happened. And I'm going to bridge this to a really big realisation. And that was that I learned over these three years to be persistent and to be patient. As many times when we work on a project to have to have faith, faith in our vision to to believe that it is going to happen, it's going to manifest to materialise, even if the results are not showing yet, or there is a lack an apparent lack of resources of results pattern.

And this reminds me of this story that Les Brown talks about the Chinese bamboo tree. And I don't know if you've listened to it. It's amazing that he says that the Chinese bamboo tree takes years to grow and you have to water it and to look after the soil where it's been planted every day for four years. And there's nothing showing for for a long time. It doesn't show any results. And maybe it takes five years and there's nothing showing and then suddenly the sixth year it goes 30 feet in 90 days. And Les Brown asks the question, so did the tree grow 30 feet in 90 days or in six years? And I think the answer is obvious. It's six years. And that is something that I really want to share with you, that it might take time. Be patient, believe in your, your vision, and, and take steps no matter how small steps of progress towards your goal towards what you want to achieve. And along that time, have faith in the process and be patient. And sometimes I say the there is this great analogy, you know, when you get into a website or a page, and it's loading, and you have that progress bar that starts on the left, and fills up from left to right, until it goes 100%. And I think sometimes Wouldn't it be great if each of us had a progress bar like that, where we could see our progress? Because, you know, right now, someone is might be thinking of quitting or changing completely direction because they have tried for years. And maybe, if if they could look at that bar, they might be at 97%. They might be you know, two days away or a phone call away from achieving what they had set out to achieve. So have faith have belief it is happening for you follow your enthusiasm, follow your passion. Do what you're passionate about, despite the the obstacles despite the challenges it's happening for you have faith have relief, it's happening it is I really can't overemphasise. And maybe you can hear it in my in my tone of voice how important this learning has been for me. And I will conclude this episode by going back to what I was saying earlier about the podcast becoming my mission. When I started putting out two episodes a week. It became my mission and also my my duty, a duty to share my journey to share this knowledge to share the the inspiration to facilitate transformation to you by by taking an action. And that's all I ask of you in every podcast episode. Really, if you have related with my guest and what we discussed, they can action take one action as a result of this conversation. I will leave you with a wonderful phrase that Jim Rohn said, Don't let your learnings lead to knowledge. Let your learnings lead to action. So what action will you take us a result of listening to this episode today.
