A special and quite different episode: I had a discussion with the author Mark Gober about liberty. And now that I am recording this, in December 2021, when I look around me it appears that liberty and freedom seem to be eroding away more and more.
More lockdowns, more censorship, mandatory vaccinations, increased surveillance, one could argue that as a society, we are on a slippery slope, a road that can lead to a future not too far off from what we've read in dystopian novels like 1984, or watched in dystopian movies like Gattaca.
If you are concerned about our freedom, if you care about the kind of society that our children and our grandchildren will live in, then I urge you to listen - this is one of the most important podcasts I've ever made.

Innately, we are free beings, meaning Freedom doesn't come from a third party like government. And just having that understanding can make us start to question some of the messaging coming from governments. Because when they say to you, we're granting you these freedoms. It's almost like they're saying it in a benevolent way. Like, we're being so magnanimous to give you this freedom, when in fact, we've had the freedom all along. So why does this matter so much? I mean, in the worst case scenario, you could end up in a situation where we move into a communist or fascistic or otherwise totalitarian society. And that's the lens that I've been using to evaluate the government's increasing intrusions into our lives. The concern is this, we could slowly evolve into scary situations. Like for example, Nazi Germany didn't start with concentration camps on day one, it took time to get there. So when you start to hear language from politicians, like we're giving you these small freedoms, if you do X, Y, and Z, at that point, you're already on the path to not being fully free. And so one of the things I'm hoping to get across in this interview and also in my book, is just for us to be aware, because if we're not aware of the negative possibilities, then we could fall prey to what many other civilizations and nations have in the past.

This was Mark Gober, the author of the book an end to upside down liberty. And this is personal development mastery Podcast, episode 183. My name is Agi Keramidas. And my mission is to inspire you to grow, stand out and take action towards the next level of your life. This is a special episode and quite different as you have already seen by the introduction, and the topic of the discussion ahead with the author Mark Gober was liberty. And now that I am recording this, it is the first of December 2021. And when I look around, it appears that liberty and freedom seem to be more and more enrolled in a way. Mark Gober, who I spoke with previously on the podcast in Episode 132, has very recently released the book called An end to upside down liberty, in which he talks about how society is currently organised with the traditionally structured government. And he explains why this institution of government is inherently hazardous to our freedom.

And when we look around us, it's something that more and more people begin to realise it every day. There are more lockdowns, more censorship, mandatory vaccinations, increased surveillance, one could argue that we are a society on a slippery slope erode that can lead to a future that wouldn't be too far off from what we have read in the dystopian novels like 1984, or watched in, in dystopian movies like Gattaca, this totalitarian society, this central authority that dictates what the citizens can do. And for me personally, as Agi, all my life, until recently, I had little interest in politics or how society is organised. But with the recent events, and the way the COVID situation has been handled globally, and how governments are controlling our life more and more, and dictate what we can do or say, and what not, I am now very much interested in politics. And during our conversation, Mark said that society has become extremely divided. And perhaps even more so today, there are almost two different realities that people are living in. And one is the reality of the mainstream media. And if you disagree with what they're saying, or if you put forth something else, then you're a conspiracy theorist or somehow dangerous, because you are contradicting what the experts say. And the other side, which of course, because variations is more questioning.

So as we are beginning to see the inconsistencies in the narrative, we began to ask ourselves, are we being told the truth And if we're not, what does that mean? seen how our governments are becoming more oppressive? What could that lead to. And so last week, I had a very extensive conversation with Mark Gober, which I'm going to present next week in the podcast. And the only thing I will share now is to stress the importance of why I believe that this episode is one that you must absolutely, listen to, if you are concerned about a freedom. If you do care about the kind of society that our children and grandchildren will live in, then I will urge you to listen, as you heard Mark, say in the introduction, our freedom does not come from the government, the government can't give us freedom, it can only give us privileges, and there is a big difference between those two things. And as I'm recording this, in December 2021, I look around me and I see that liberties continuously eroded under the guise of providing safety for our protection. And I see the big risk of what this is transforming into, and look what is happening in China, in Australia, in Austria, and coming soon to your country as well, if it hasn't already.

One thing that mark and me discussed was how we are conditioned to believe that our political leaders are always trustworthy in they have good intentions, and because we have elected them, they are honourable servants of the people that somehow are devoted to the common good. However, the reality is not necessarily that and we have to ask ourselves, in the end, do the political leaders care more about our interests or their interests? And another thing we spoke about was specifically, how does the government threaten our liberty, Mark says that the masses the people involuntarily save under the government, and they don't even realise that there is a hidden enslavement. And other thing we discussed, was how governments use brainwashing and mind control. And we are conditioned to think that these things happen elsewhere, like in North Korea, but they are not they're happening everywhere. And we talked about the term conspiracy theory, which is used to automatically dismiss something as false or crazy. And in the end, who gives the right to governments, the media and big tech, to dictate what the truth is, and sat down the alternative opinions. And as a reminder here, governments throughout history have been responsible for immense death, destruction, enslavement, and brainwashing. And all this has been enabled by the widespread belief that this traditional structure is not only acceptable, but necessary, but we need to break the spell.
8:42
So I will reiterate, I believe next week's episode with Mark Gober is one of the most important podcast episodes I have presented. And it's certainly very pertinent to the present times. And one other point in the conversation is about the alternatives to this traditional structure of government. And I truly believe that it is important once we recognise the existing system for what it is to have a vision of the future as we would like it to be a beacon of light even if it is an imperfect solution. We also talked about the future critical mass and the mindset shift that needs to happen in order for humanity to transition to this kind of society in the future. The so called shift in consciousness in order to end this upside down liberty that we are in. So if you are concerned at all of how things are going in the world, with humanity with society with the government's removing bit by bit our freedoms Then listen to the episode with Mark Gober episode 184 Next Monday, it is extremely important for the future of us as human beings. Until next time, standout don't fit in.
